A little gift from me to you, mozCC 0.6 is now available. This release adds support for the Mozilla Suite (version 1.4 and above, although previous releases may work) and Netscape (tested with 7.1, but should work with all Gecko-based releases (>= 6, I believe). You can install it by clicking “here”:http://www.yergler.net/projects/mozcc/releases/mozcc-0.6.xpi.
At this point the only major outstanding issue is making URIs appear as links in the details window. I’ve struggled quite a bit with the tree element and haven’t made any progress. If you have any knowledge of XUL, or the particulars of embedding links inside
As always, the answers to all your burning questions about mozCC are located “here”:http://www.yergler.net/projects/mozcc. Feedback, suggestions, and “gifts”:http://www.amazon.com/o/registry/NGLQZUUUV4F6 (just in time for my birthday, hint, hint) are welcome as well.
Looks great on Mozilla 1.6a/Linux. Tab switching works with one small problem:
- load page with CC metadata
- open new tab
- switch back to previous tab
- click on status bar license characteristic icon(s)
- RDF popup appears, but with no data
(clicking on the toolbar button the RDF popup does have data)
…
Hmm, I am not so certain this is a tab switching issue. It seems the status bar icons often lead to a popup with no data, but I’m uncertain of any correlation now.
…
Another minor cosmetic suggestion: make the popup default to something wider than present — I find myself nearly always having to widen the window to make out the data.
Overall it looks and works great. Whoever did 20×20 icons did a great job.
…
(nothing to do with mozCC really)
My wish for Mozilla would be the ability to install and make extensions active without restarting. What is this, Windows 95? :-) I tend to have lots of tabs open, so restarting is very painful (I know I can bookmark a group of tabs, but that doesn’t always work for session-based pages, and it isn’t as transparent as Galeon, which let you quit and restart with the same tabs you last quit (or crashed) with).
while i like. it seems that i can’t move the mozCC button on the tool bar. so if you could make it moveable.. that would be nice. :-)
